Darcy (she/her) is a third-year student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s program at Northern Arizona University.
As a counseling student and a dedicated intern, I am passionate about supporting individuals on their journey toward emotional well-being. My approach to therapy is rooted in person-centered principles, where I prioritize creating a compassionate and non-judgmental space for clients. I also integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to help clients develop mindful strategies for problem-solving and personal growth.
I identify as a queer woman, and my personal experiences inform my empathetic and inclusive approach to therapy. Before pursuing a career in counseling, I spent a rewarding decade as a yoga instructor, where I honed my skills in mindful awareness and body-centered healing. My experience in this field has reinforced my belief in the profound connection between mind and body, and I often draw upon this understanding to enhance my therapeutic practice.
Outside of my professional life, I am an avid knitter and a lover of fiber arts, which I find meditative and creatively fulfilling. I also enjoy spending time with my dogs, listening to audiobooks, and exploring various forms of art. These interests not only enrich my life but also contribute to my empathetic and holistic approach to therapy.
