Role-Playing Game Therapy Group for Teens and Emerging Adults

What if the best place to practice real life was a world of dragons, dungeons, and collaborative storytelling? At Cathexis Tucson, we think there just might be. This summer, we’re launching Game Therapy — a therapeutic TTRPG (tabletop role-playing game) group designed specifically for teens and young adults who want to grow, connect, and have a little fun along the way.

Led by therapist Andrew Ayon, these small-group sessions use the structure of role-playing games as a clinical tool. Participants create characters, navigate stories, and make decisions together — all within a safe, therapist-facilitated space that bridges imagination and real-world skill-building.
