Hunter Ackerley

Hunter is a clinical intern currently completing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northern Arizona University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychological Science from the University of Arizona and has experience in behavioral health, adult attachment research, and community health education and advocacy.

 

She enjoys working with young adults, individuals, and partners navigating identity development, relationship and sexual concerns, life stressors and transitions, neurodivergence, and LGBTQIA+ experiences. She uses an integrative approach to therapy, pulling strongly from Person-Centered, Existential, Psychodynamic, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness-based, and somatic modalities.

 

Her work emphasizes authentic exploration while developing emotional awareness, secure relationships, and tools for clients to build resilience and deepen their self-understanding. She provides an affirming, collaborative, and trauma-informed space where clients can move toward more personally meaningful and values-aligned lives.
