Moon Thomas

Intern, BHT

Hi there! My name is Moon, and I am currently pursuing my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Arizona. A majority of my professional experience comes from my work in my rural hometown of Globe, AZ. There, I had the privilege of working with diverse populations of youth in a variety of settings including public schools, after-school theatre programs, and juvenile detention centers. Most recently, I’ve gained experience facilitating therapy groups and leading parenting classes in the Tucson area. I am excited to continue expanding my experience by working with adults, children, couples, and families!

As a counselor, I aim to create a safe, brave space where individuals can explore their unique strengths and values, and harness them to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and purpose. I utilize techniques from a variety of approaches including (but not limited to!) Existential, Narrative, and Play therapies. Depending on clients’ interest, I also enjoy integrating art, music, and creative writing into our work together.

In my free time I enjoy writing poetry, baking cookies with my grandma, and attempting to teach my cat tricks. I look forward to working with you!
