Stacy Oliver

LAC

I am a licensed associate counselor (LAC) with a Psychology degree from the University of
Alabama and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Prescott College with a
specialization in somatic therapy. I am also a certified trauma specialist through the Arizona
Trauma Institute (ATI). My years of experience in the nonprofit sector (public service, housing,
and food scarcity) instilled my belief that we are charged with unlearning oppressive systems
that perpetuate collective suffering.

I also believe that each person is the expert on their own lived experience, and that healing is
possible through self-knowledge, honoring our felt experience, and through connection with
others and the natural world. I believe that each person is complex and multi-layered, impacting
and being impacted by their concentric social and environmental circles and their histories.
As a therapist, I may be a good fit for you if you seek support in nurturing self-trust, healing your
relationship with your body, navigating a significant life change, or enriching your relationships. I
recognize that each person in their body is unique and holds intersecting identities, experiences,
and relationships to our shared culture. Folks with marginalized identities, chronic illnesses, and
neurodivergence may find our work especially affirming.

My approach for supporting you through change involves providing a non-judgmental,
respectful, compassionate, and collaborative space for us to explore your values, how you have
learned how to move through the world, and how your innate wisdom and self-knowledge can
lead you toward healing and choice. I draw on a combination of trauma-informed, somatic,
emotionally-focused, existential, experiential, feminist, and internal family systems (IFS)
approaches to my work with clients. I adapt my approach to each client’s unique needs and
pace. While I mostly see clients in person, I offer some telehealth sessions and enjoy working
with adults of all ages and backgrounds.
