Stephan Ackermann

LPC, MA, MBA

Stephan uses a person-centered approach to create a safe therapeutic process most relevant to the client.  Stephan integrates evidence-based treatments (CBT, EMDR, Mindfulness) and a depth-psychology approach in working with adults on issues related to life transitions, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, as well as individuals seeking personal growth.  Stephan also works with couples in need of resolving conflicts and improving their relationship.

Stephan is a former vice president of the Southern Arizona Friends of Jung organization. In his work, Stephan promotes individuation, a process of transformation whereby the unconscious is brought into consciousness (dream analysis, sand-play, artistic expressions, active imagination) for an eventual integration of the psyche resulting in psychological health and somatic well-being.  Stephan is originally from France and had a distinguished business career prior to becoming a psychotherapist. Stephan cultivates many interests including transpersonal psychology, philosophy, comparative religion, and personal development.  Stephan joins Cathexis from the Tucson Medical Center (Peppi’s House – TMC Hospice) where he interned as a Grief Counselor.

Stephan is trained in Ketamine-Assisted Therapy and offers this service through Cathexis Psychedelics.
