Cathexis is an outpatient mental health service provider, specializing in individual, couples/marriage, and family therapy. Our clinicians are highly trained in assisting clients with a variety of counseling services including addiction, anxiety and depression, behavioral issues, coping skills, eating disorders, grief and loss, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, parenting skills, and mood disorders to name a few. We have a great deal of experience working with a variety of people with specific cultures, such as LGBTQ and Native American affiliations (we are providers for the American Indian Health Program).
Cathexis values an individualized approach to therapy which encourage clients to take an active role in their treatment goals. Our Trauma Informed Care approach to therapy means that we consider the “whole person”, including past traumas and coping mechanisms, when determining the proper theories and strategies required for treatment.
This “Whole Person” approach is not limited just to the counseling session itself but also to the physical environment of our offices, and the direct access our clients have to their therapists. Our offices are beautifully maintained and decorated so that our clients understand from the beginning that they are valued and respected. Furthermore, when clients have direct access to their therapists, they understand on an intuitive level that they are not “just another client” at Cathexis.
We further understand that treatment strategies must be designed to the individual needs of the client. Therefore, we have hand-picked a team of talented therapists who bring to the table a wide variety of skill sets, theory, and training in best practices. We make every effort to connect clients with a therapist that is best suited to their needs.
From the minimal intake paperwork required on the first visit, to the empowerment clients feel upon realizing they have a say in their treatment plan, there is nothing “one size fits all” about the way we provide services.
We accept AHCCCS insurance through the Banner University Family Plan, the UnitedHealthcare Community Plan, and the American Indian Health Program. Some of our clinicians accept the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona commercial insurance, and we offer an affordable Self Pay option for those not covered by insurance.
